Dear Mustangs,

I wanted to take a moment and tell you that I hope everyone that goes home for Homecoming has a safe and enjoyable visit.

Sweetwater is such a good town. I think I was pretty fortunate to grow up there.

From Southeast Elementary in 1963, to Sweetwater High School in 1970, there was a time of learning and growth. It of course was a much simpler time, but it was perfect for a kid in west Texas. Playing baseball at the American League Park in Little League to playing pony league ball at the "big" park was a huge part of my life then. I could spend all day playing baseball. And did so many times. I remember throwing papers for the Sweetwater Reporter, washing dishes at the Ranch House Restaurant, to the best part-time job of working at the Village grocery store sacking groceries. It was all fun and I learned alot.

As we all return to Sweetwater, I hope we all reflect back on the good things that happened in our lives while attending SHS. I hope we have dealt with all our pains and setbacks from an awkward time in our lives. I hope we appreciate what all of our coaches and teachers tried to do for us. Whether we recognize it even now or not. You know, there aren't many guarantees in life. Sure, there are enough problems in the world to make us run to keep ahead of them at times. But I hope our trip back to Sweetwater brings back the good times of our lives and when it wasn't as hectic. Take care, and I wish you all a Happy Homecoming!

Lew
