And so it comes back to Snyder....

Dear Mustangs,

Yes, it comes back to Snyder.

The site of last year's playoff loss. The team that ended it for us last year. The team that had the luck of having a stranger walk through their door and run for 2800 yards last season. That Snyder.

To the Mustang Players:
You are a much better team than last year. You know it, I know it, and now, Snyder is about to know it. I know it goes without saying that we need to wash that bitter taste of a loss we felt last year out of our mouths and memory. This week is so much different than last week. Abilene Wylie is different than Snyder. Ya sort of have to like and appreciate Wylie for what they accomplished last year and without much recognition either.

That isn't the case with Snyder. Snyder has been, and will always be Sweetwater's most bitter rival. There is absolutely nothing I can say good about Snyder. They like to play that kid game of secrets. Like they are embrrassed to have a blog about them, where you have to pay (not me) to read their stinking paper? Who wants to read about Snyder anyways? And why do they always have to mouth off? Yeah, Snyder has always been the arch rival, always will be. You Mustangs have such a great opportunity Friday. You get to go back to Snyder and claim redemption!

Wade into them........wade into Snyder with the Red Sea behind you!

OK...with your first step on the bus to go to Snyder, repeat after me,.....it's a business trip, it's a business trip...Take care of the business dudes. No time for sight-seeing because there is nothing to see out there. Go Get em.........go get redemption! It's payback time!

Dear Lew, Just wanted yall to know, Snyder will be ready for this game as well as yall! I have met coach Jackson before and I know he will have thoe mustangs ready, And this rivalry with Sweetwater and Snyder will never die! And all of the blogs I've been reading could yall be over confident, not to many people are giving Snyder a chance, heck, they might not even need to show up, since it's already over. You know there is one thing good I can say about sweetwater, and it is I respect their football program and the town for following them (well maybe two. As for the Snyder daily, I buy it at the store, I aint going to pay for the internet. I do go to sweetwater site just to see what yall are doing. If we lose this game it dosent relly matter just as long as we beat the mustangs in the play-offs!!! Wil good luck to both teams, and Lew I enjoy reading your comments.

Hey there Mr. Robertson....

Welcome to the Sweetwater blog. It's great to have some Snyder input here.

Let me just say, Sweetwater is NOT over-confident.

Snyder is the one with the higher ranking, Snyder is the one that is undefeated. I respect your comments, but you are trying to portray Snyder as the underdog, and all due respect to you, that doesn't work today.

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad someone from Snyder finally put some comments on here. Come back soon. Good luck to your Tigers AFTER tonight (smile)

Lew, you know we can throw all the rankings and records out the window when these two teams place. Personally I don't like to be ranked, it just puts a bulls-eye on your back. Second Snyder havent been customed to being in the rankings (or that high up)!! Also I have a question for you? If Sweetwater would not have lost to AW, would Snyder be the underdog?
Lew I also know; yall will be without alot of ypur starters, and like I stated before Sweetwater will be rady.
Thank you for listening

Hey Darrell,

In answer to your question, if Sweetwater had not lost to Abilene Wylie, Sweetwater would indeed be the #1 team this week. But Wylie did beat us.

Let me also mention that we have a couple of players out due to injury, but the mind set and the reality is, we feel we have an abundance of great athletes to step right in and not miss a beat. I truly feel this will be a great game. And without any prejudice, I really feel Sweetwater is more motivated to win this game, I really do.

You are correct about the records when these two teams meet. I agree with you there, I just think Sweetwater has more to lose if they don't win. I really feel Sweetwater will dictate the pace of this game. I might be wrong, but I'm betting I'm not. Thanks again for your good comments.

Lew and Darrell ,

After reading the story in the Abilene Reporter and on this blog , I am certain that this game was quite a battle ! (like any contest between Sweetwater and Snyder wouldn't be) As a MUSTANG FAN , the outcome of the game really makes MY DAY !

It's good to be able to see a Tiger and a Mustang , come together to have a civil discussion .(or is that a civil disagreement?)

Regardless , I enjoy the comments !

Tom,
Do you remember Van Newberry? See my comments above. He was the referee at the game. Small world huh?
