Going out on a limb

Good morning Mustangs,

I was just looking at District 3-3A to just see what the possibilities are for the 1st round playoffs after next week's final game assuming the Mustangs beat Merkel.

Here are the teams:

District 3-3A Football according to the 2005-2006 UIL Official Site

Ft. Stockton
Lamesa
Midland Greenwood
Monahans
Pecos
Seminole

I have no idea what their records are, or who is Division I and II teams are. Maybe this will be a good project to do today. Stay tuned. I think what I'll do is simply go back to last year's schedules and see if that will answer some questions.

Of course, I am assuming this would be the district Sweetwater would match up to in the first round as District 1-3A plays 2-3 A, and 3-3A plays 4-3A etc.

OK, here are the scores in the 1st round from last year:

Abilene Wylie 31, Fort Stockton 7
Snyder 19, Midland Greenwood 7
Sweetwater 41, Seminole 14

Of course I understand Monahans is in this year, lots of talk from Monahans. Not sure who else is in from that district so we'll see. I think Ft. Stockton is winless, so it appears Monahans, Midland Greenwood, and probably Seminole.

Come on Mustang fans. Let's make some noise and show some enthusiasm for finishing out the remainder of the schedule. We need get ready for the State Championship run. This will be fun!!! Like Lew says I imagine Snyder will be out there waiting. Do you think Snyder is the best remaining team? Those teams ranked ahead of us are just someone's opinion. What do you think?

I, for one, am READY for Friday. I was just telling my wife last night how excited I am to watch the Mustangs back in action. Even though we went to the Snyder/Wylie game on Friday it's not the same as watching those boys in RED flying up and down the field.

Way to go. Guy. Me too!!! I strongly believe that the Mustangs, when they play their best, are really one fine high school football team. I don't see any team in our future that we can't beat. I really believe that we could play Wylie again and beat them. So, here we go. On to State Mustangs.

Was just looking up Monahans and there schedule compared to our district teams. here is Monahans schedule and scores per the Texas Football Ratings web-site:

Monahans 37 Midland Christian 26
Monahans 41 Brownfield 3
Monahans 45 Colorado City 7
Monahans 46 Ft. Stockton 0
Monahans 41 Lamesa 6
Monahans 62 Seminole 13
Monahans 38 Pecos 7

There non-district and district schedules do not quite measure up to ours. Of course, that's just my opinion. I too think our district is the best in 3A in the state. I also want to wish Sweetwater and Wylie good luck in the playoffs.
