Oh and by the way folks, if you want to post comments on my blog, you might consider keeping it clean because I get to decide what's posted and what isn't. This was a great football game, my hat's off to both teams. But I won't post anything that's rude. Got that SnyderFan @yahoo.com with an IP address of 70.247.8.175?

What I say on this blog is never anything personal. You on the other hand, want to make it a personal thing. That won't work here.

Like I said, you are a biget...Making fun of the shirt Snyder had made is not personal? Maybe not to you, but how about the kid that designed it?

Our fans buy your tickets by coming over on their tractors? Again, you are a biget...

I realize you didn't make these post, but you allowed the post. That makes you the biget...

I didn't graduate at Snyder and I live in Dallas. I have friends in Snyder and have always kept track of this game. I was simply refuted the ego's of your players.

This is exactly why people hate your little town and West Texas in general. You would not survive outside your little protected harbor. Your definition of rude is anything bad said about your little cowtown.

You are a poor moderator and have a socialist point of view(and thats by actions, not words). This is not the American way. I admit I got carried away with the language, but your communist control of this board is a much worse action.

I tell you all this not for my benefit, I could care less. I don't know you and don't want too...I am telling you for your benefit. Your actions piss people off and it is reflected in their attitudes toward your community.

The email address I am sending you is a good address, should you want this lesson to continue...

Well where do I begin? I guess since you made fun of my spelling, I have a right to inform you the word you mispelled is biggot...not biget.

Where you and I differ is I was making a light hearted joke about the Snyder T-shirt, you on the other hand, wanted to make fun of a Sweetwater player personally. Do you really believe a Sweetwater player calls himself Big Bird? You missed the point of the whole deal. I made up the names and posted all the graphics. I don't know where you live in Dallas, but most folks in west Texas caught the joke. I actually met a nice fan from Snyder and we made a friendly bet on the game and the T-shirt was part of the bet. But you probably didn't read all of the prior comments did you?
My definition of rude is someone like you who assumes you know what's going on when you don't, making fun of a person's looks, and assuming THEY made comments about Snyder, when in fact, I am the one that posted the players pictures, and I am the one that posted the comments under the players pictures. Are you telling me you thought the players themselves did that? Maybe you should have graduated from Snyder. I am pretty sure they got the joke.

In actuallity, I DID make the comments under all the player's pictures so if you have a beef, it's with me, I take full responsibility for them. I designed, formatted all the posts.

I might also advise you I don't live in west Texas, I actually live in Fort Worth, so you assumed another thing that was wrong. If you hate west Texas, that's your problem.

American way? How many years have you served in this nation's military? I have six years logged in the military. I fought for your right to be an American and you don't even realize it.

I think the feeling is pretty mutual, I don't want to know you either. Bottom line is I posted this comment from you because you at least didn't curse like you were doing last night. Now who is the biggot?

And one last thing. As bad as your feelings are hurt about this whole deal, I never cursed you, never called you profane names, and never said any of the Snyder players had something wrong with them....But I'm sure you can defend your profane actions in some manner.

Lew: Oh Brother I just can't believe some people. If the Mustangs had lost I would have been disappointed and hurt but to react in the way this fellow did is just unbelievable. It is a game and there is always next year. Good clean competition makes you better. It makes you want to be better. Don't worry Lew, most of us know it is a joke. We smile and move on. I, for one, enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work. It is great!!!

Thanks J.B.,
You have been with me on this blog since day 1. You get it....you understand what I am doing on this blog. Thanks alot for all of your nice comments.

Some folks just read what they want into things instead of just enjoying a blog.

Thanks for reading my blog, and more importantly, thanks for being a big fan of the Big Red!

I am not a Sweetwater fan but an admirer of any great football program, and Sweetwater is one, going way back to the beginning of time!!! Anyway, I have periodically read Lew's blog and in the world of blogs created by people who are supposed to be biased for their team (in other words, only sports writers are required to be unbiased) Lew's blog is one of the least offensive entries on the entire internet. He says nothing but positive things about the Sweetwater players and coaches and even manages to say positive things about Sweetwater's opponents. I wanted to address the comment about Lew's blog being communist. First, I don't think the SnyderFan understands what communist means. It is simply a form a government and yes those in control of those type of governments control what is said about the government. But the last time I checked, we live in America, land of free speech. Not only is Lew allowed to say just about anything, as long as it is not bigoted, meaning he has a negative opinion about something without really looking at the facts. Like saying a person is stupid because of their ethnic background without ever even meeting or talking to that person. But you, SnyderFan, are the bigot. What do you know about West Texas folks? Have you ever met one? If you did meet one, did you base your opinion about all of West Texans based on that one person? That is bigoted. Stay off our West Texas website if you can't say anything intelligent. Based on you, I might have the bigoted opinion that all city folks are narrow-minded snobs. Luckily, I have relatives that live in Arlington, Houston, Tucson, and other large cities in the United States, so I know better. At least we can all be glad that because of your opinion of West Texans, you will never be moving here. Please promise you will never visit, either. By the way, congrats to the Mustangs on beating Snyder. Let's keep this blog about football and nothing else.

Lew; I think you owe me 1 red shirt? Who would have thunk it? Sure was'nt me! Now the revenge will be ours hopefully; but before revenge can be our motive, we still have to play AW, Merkel; so it aint a done deal.
Now For the inporntant stuff. 1. I am a Tiger fan and supporter. 2. I don't like the Mustang's; but I respect them. 3. I never tought I would say this about someone from SW, Lew even though I havent met you , but from what I read you are ok. You only speak of your team (god forbid) lol, and even though you don't lik Snyder, you do respect us (don' you)lol. 5.As for that shirt, lets look at the whole picture. Spread the red, we both know what was the reason behind the shirt (smoosh yall, or smash yall)or whatever, or one could think they were supporting yall by spreading the red? 6. How do you spell biggett? really I don't know? 7. Lew keep on because if you don't do who will, if I was more confident in my writing & spelling I would do a Snyder Blog (& time).

This game is history now its time to get ready for AW. So much as I hate to say it congrats, & I will be at the rematch if we get that for.

Email me back & I will give you the information for the shirt. See you later.\

Folks, I really appreciate your comments, it really is nice to see some good ol west Texans coming together regardless if it's Abilene, Sweetwater, or Snyder.

When I set out to write this blog, I wanted to make it a fun place to read about high school football. I wanted to make it different than just a yards and numbers page. I wanted to put some color in the blog. I envisioned graphics, animated gifs, different things to spice up a web page. Had I been from Snyder, or Abilene Wylie, I would have done the same thing.

You know, as I mature more everyday, I realize that life should be fun...just like the blog I try to enhance every day.

I'm sure most of us that have been around long enough have endured so many real problems and issues in real life, that coming to my goofy little blog might make someone smile, might give someone a chuckle they otherwise might not have had or any thing to smile about.

Make no mistake, I love my Mustangs.
But on the grand scheme of things, if anyone in Snyder, Wylie, Clyde or wherever needed my help for anything...I would be right there trying to help.

I am proud to announce that GoFridayNight.com has advised me that this week's blog had more people look at this blog than any other blog, including the weather blog. The folks at the Abilene-Reporter News get a kick out my blog I believe.

Another motivating thing for me is to recognize people, good students and athletes, and fans of some of the best towns in America, west Texas!
It is truly an honor for me to be able to sort of have a laugh with ya'll on a regular basis.

If someone is ever offended, as I have stated before, I'm sorry. No harm is ever meant to be mean.

Ya'll have a great day, and thansk again for all of your comments.

Thanks, Lew, for keeping things straight on this site. I appreciate it. Heck! ANYBODY should know YOU posted those nicknames. What kid in his right mind would call himself "Big Bird"!? LOL

There's no room for negativity in high school sports! The players are KIDS---not professionals. None of the people on that field on Friday night are professionals. The fans are parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and most of all, friends!

My son didn't play football, but we have only missed maybe 4 games (in or out of town games) since we moved back to WEST TEXAS in 1978. But our friends have kids that play and that's the reason we go.

Nothing's better than West Texas football---especially Sweetwater High School Football! Go Red!
