Dear Mustangs,

One of the good things about the Mustangs is there seems to be some underclassmen already making a niche for themselves on the varsity.

Names like J.J. McCoy, Rufus McCann, and now, Auston Davis. This is in addition to Sky Green and Joseph Banyard.

Sweetwater has the lowest enrollment for schools compared to Abilene Wylie and Snyder, but Sweetwater continually has a slew of underclassmen that have some good talent to draw upon. Now I'm no football expert, but it sounded like the middle of the Wylie defense could have been tested a little more with all the room that Davis was seeing last night. It appeared that Wylie was pinching the corners to keep the Jet Sweep from becoming a factor. It worked. Wylie held the Mustangs to 3 points. Going forward though, it seems that Mr. Davis might just be a good option for going right up the middle in case Snyder has the same plan of pinching the corners. I'm sure the Sweetwater coaches noticed that.
