Sweetwater 34, Levelland 31

What a game!!!!!

Before I begin, I want to preface that I don't have exact numbers. So, I may be off here and there a bit, please bear with me. I have to get up at 3:00AM and travel to College Station.

What a game the Mustangs won!!!

Justin Adames got Sweetwater on the board with a 67 yard scamper, Levelland came back..7-6 Mustangs.

Joseph (Batman) Banyard scampered 70 yards, and the Lobos came back and added a 2 point conversion 14-14.

Levelland had missed an extra point but made a 42 yard field goal?? What kind of game is this? Lobos 17-14 at the half.
Sweetwater had the ball about 4 minutes the entire half! That means Levelland had the ball about 20 minutes. Unbelievable!

Part of the problem there was two turnovers by the Mustangs.

I don't know how many 3rd and long situations that the Lobos converted, but it seemed like they converted every one of them. I really don't know why they didn't pass more because that was there best offensive weapons. At one 3rd and 10, they converted and made a 40 yard pass play work..it was unbelievable.

Then with time running out in the 4th quarter Sonny Birdwell hit Brendan Pittman down the middle for a 1st down.
And then with Levelland leading the game, 31-27, 1:01 left to play in the game, from the 11 yard line, Joseph Banyard went left, stiff-armed the entire defense of Levelland, and scored!!!

Cudos to Brandon Fangman, and Clayton for getting after the quarterback.

I can't even describe how the last possession went for Levelland. All I know is they had 4th down and 10, 13 seconds left ball on the 39 yard line of Sweetwater, and Russell Clayton sealed the deal for the Mustangs. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have more later, but I think this was great experience for the Mustangs. Great job guys!!!!! Great job!!!!
