J.B.,
I hope you are right. And let me add it's sure good to see you back. I hope you are feeling back to normal.

Ya know J.B., I had an uncle that reminds me of you.....he lived over in Mesquite...he was a heck of a guy...

Anyways...I just wanted to tell you it's good to have you back..and thanks so much for your comments.

Hi, Lew:

KR from IP again. From the reading I've done, it appears that your running backs (esp. Green) are the best IP has faced this year. I think the only backs that were comparable were from Burkburnett and Mineral Wells. The Mineral Wells back is especially good, I think. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how they compare?

Thanks.

Good Morning KR,
Good question. The fact of the matter is we are fortunate to have a stable (no pun intended) of good running backs. Regarding Green, he was a state finalist in track last year. I don't know about the Mineral Wells back, but unless he was in the finals at the state meet, I don't know how to compare that.

Joesph Banyard is another excellent back. He is almost as fast, but runs with an attitude whereas Green is a "now ya see him, now ya don't" type of runner. Banyard has what I call an Earl Campbell type mentality and that is, he doesn't mind making contact when he has the ball.

Auston Davis is another fine back. He will hit a hole extremely fast. He is built low and sometimes a defense won't even see him until he's in the secondary. They all compliment each other very well.

Should be a great game!

I would just like to say Go Mustangs from the Gulf Coast area.I have been fortunate to see the Mustangs play against Pecos t
this year and one thing that comes to mind is speed.
Sweetwater had some injuries early in the year, but from what I hear they are back at full strength. One thing for sure every time they advance the games get tougher.I believe if we going to win state the key will be the defense, because those East Texas teams can match with speed.Well that is enough chat for one day Happy Thanksgiving.

HAVING LIVED IN NEW WAVERLY FOR OVER 30 YEARS, I KNOW THAT EAST TEXAS TEAMS POSSESS A GREAT DEAL OF SPEED. NO EXACTLY EAST TEXAS, TOMBALL HAD A GREAT DEAL OF SPEED, THEN THE MIGHTY MUSTANGS DROVE THEM LIKE A NEW CADILAC. HOPEFULLLY WE WILL MAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO STATE. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD AFTERNOON.

Thanks Lew, for your comments. Thanks for all you do for Mustang football. Great program and great history when I think of all the people that have worn those colors with pride.

Not back to normal yet. This supra catheter is a pain and some urological surgery ahead. Nobody knows about the future. We just live it with what courage we can. Keep the RED moving. Go Mustangs!!!
