Unbelievable!!!

Dear Fans,
Obviously you are football fans, or you wouldn't be reading this. Let me just say that the game between Brownwood and Sweetwater, at the 2nd annual Sammy Baugh Classic in Sweetwater's Mustang Bowl doesn't get anybetter than this!
Two storied programs with reputations on the line, produced one of the most exciting games I can recall.
Sweetwater recieved the opening kickoff and with the blocking of the offensive line and the gritty determination of # 36 Auston Davis, the Mustangs marched to the first scoring of the game, and frankly made it look very easy which you and I know it wasn't. James Beckwith made the extra point (remember his name) and the score was a quick 7-0 and about 3:00 had run off the clock.
The Mustangs kicked off to Brownwood and held and the Lions punted back to the Mustangs..and a repeat performance ensued with the same results. The line was making magnificent holes for Davis again, and the Mustangs marched down for another score, making it Sweetwater 14-0.
Of course eveyone should remember the previous week when Brownwood was in a very similar position with Abilene Wylie, and the Lions won that game. So I imagine the Mustangs were well aware of that fact, and wasn't going to let up anytime soon.
Brownwood took the ensuing kickoff and opend some passing lanes and made their own march making it 14-7 at the half.
At halftime, the Sweetwater Mustangs paid tribute to the great Sammy Baugh and retired the #21 jersey. Never again will a Sweetwater Mustang wear that number.

What an honor to bestow on one of Sweetwater's own. Sammy Baugh was such a great representative for Sweetwater.
The second half was just as tight as the first. Sweetwater added another score on a pass to Joseph Banyard as Brownwood couldn't believe Sweetwater actually threw a pass. banyard was all alone at about the 10, and walked in. The score would then be tied at 21-21.
And then, perhaps we had the version of the US Hockey Team's Miracle on Ice about to happen.
With about 1:30 left in the game, Sweetwater started thier last drive on their own 30 yard line. The moved the ball down to about the 35 yard line of Brownwood. There was 1 second showing on the clock...the wind was blowing in the Mustang's face. What do you do? You call on James (Bull) Beckwith to kick a 42 yard field goal with no time left, to win the game!!!!!!!!!!
I am still in shock at this. What a kick! What a game!!!!!!
Simply, unbelievable!!!!!!!

Thanks Lew. I saw somewhere on the internet where Brownwood had won 27/24. I went to bed distressed but woke up to better news. I apreciate the efforts of the boys. Way to go Big Red! ! The schedule is awesome but we just have to bring our "A" game every week. Our team is the best. We just have to play our best and prove it.
