Howdy Mustangs and Mustang fans!!!!!!!!
It's time for some football! Time for another edition of Sweetwater Mustang football. It seems like only a few weeks ago we were watching Joseph Banyard, Skye Green, Duone Cunnings, Justin Adames and all the rest of the Stangs head for the playoffs. And of course all of North America knows those young men have graduated and gone on to bigger and better things. So what happens now?
Well, if you listen to all of the experts on various bulletin boards around the state, no one is giving the Mustangs too much credit to come back this year and be a decent team. I challenge that notion today. I have a lot to learn about the Mustangs, but I would be willing to bet a doughnut that Coach Jackson and his staff will do everything possible to get this team ready for this season. And by the way, aren't we fortunate to have such a good coaching staff at Sweetwater? It isn't every day a coach and his staff gets asked to coach the Texas High School Coaches Association North VS. South game. But Coach Jackson and his staff were the coaches for north Texas in Fort Worth's Amon Carter Stadium a few weeks back. Great job by the entire staff. You certainly made us proud!
Now on to two-a-days!
The Mustangs have been working hard in practice. They know they have much work to be done.
The new QB is Thomas Holsey, and like coach Jackson said Holsey would have been a starting QB on alot of teams last year. But that's ok, Holsey had a great year on defense for the Mustangs last year. I understand he has a good arm too!

Practice is practice, and as I mentioned previously, there is lots of work to accomplish because the end of August is fast approaching! Stay tuned and fasten your seat belts, cause there is a Mustang Stampede about to hit!
Come join the Pony Express!
