NEXT UP FOR THE PANTHERS: GARDEN CITY
Garden City (45) mercy ruled the Panthers last year. This year will be a different story! The Panthers need to put together a good defensive strategy to stay in the game and in the 4th quarter pull out a victory. Lets go Panthers it's REDEMPTION TIME.- Robert Mills

PANTHERS 45 MERCY RULE LOHN IN THE 3RD QUARTER SCORE 57-8
The Panthers were hitting on all cylinders at their homecoming game vs.Lohn. Lohn was outmatched and out manned from the start. With only 8-9 players coming out for football for Lohn this year it looks to be a long season for sure. ACHS got a chance to "fine tune" some things and give some much needed playing time to more than just their starters. GREAT JOB PANTHERS!

ACHS Homecoming vs Lohn
Lohn comes into this game after a big loss to Blackwell. Last year they were 6-2 overall and 3-1 in district play. This year looks like a rebuilding season for Lohn. ACHS is picked to win their homecoming game tonight. I am hoping for a stronger defensive outing this week to rebound from the disappointing loss last week to Sidney. Go Panthers!- Robert Mills

OUCH! Panthers fall to the Sidney Eagles 62 to 36
Last Friday night was a beautiful night for football. Mistakes early found the Panthers behind 18 to 6 at the end of the first quarter. This game quickly became a track meet as the Panther defense had trouble stopping the eagles running game. The eagles rolled up 415 rushing yards and it seemed at times that the Panthers just couldn't find the defensive magic that they had Friday night a week ago. The offense got untracked in the second half but with no defensive stops it was to little to late. It was evident that the Eagles with 5 returning starters on either side of the ball should make a run into the play-offs this year for their first play-off appearance since 1996. Passing & PAT kicking will be the Eagles weakspots this year and if teams can stop their ground game then the eagles might find it to be another disappointing year. The Panthers are looking to rebound this week for their 2008 Homecoming game. I am confident that they will make the necessary defensive adjustments that will improve their season record to 2-1 and bring home a Homecoming win! GO PANTHERS!!!!- Robert Mills

PANTHERS TO PLAY THE SIDNEY EAGLES TONIGHT 7:30PM AT SIDNEY, TEXAS
The eagles are 1-0 on the season winning 48-13 against Buckholts HS last week.
The Panthers are also 1-0 beating back the Lorain Bulldogs 52-32.
The eagles were 5-5 last season going 2-2 in district, they have not had a play-off appearance since 1996. But don't take them lightly as they are returning 5 defensive and 5 offensive starters from a year ago. Six of those returning starters made the all-district first team.
The Eagles head coach had this to say about this year:
"We ought to be able to make the postseason this year," coach Shannon Williams said. "We made mistakes last year because we were young. But we've got the experience this year."
It looks like a tough one this Friday night. I know the Panthers can rise to the occasion, Keep the mistakes to a minimum and the emotion and intensity high and lets bring home another VICTORY ! GO PANTHERS!

Panthers 52 Lorain Bulldogs 32
Coming soon: team stats from the game.
The Panthers got off to a slow start as Lorain pulled several touchdowns ahead in the first half and the game was in danger of being a Bulldog runaway victory. With approximately 6 to 7 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter we had several storm delays and the Panthers had pulled to within two points trailing 32 to 30.
The Bulldogs were held scoreless in the second half by a stingy, hard hitting Panther defense. The offense came alive on hard running by the backs and a great passing game that included most if not all of the Panther receivers.
In my opinion this was a critical game for this group because of a disappointing season last year due to injuries to key players. This team needed to know that they are capable and good enough to play with and beat the opponents that they are matched up against this year.
But most of all....they needed to see that there is another intensity level that they can attain that will vault them into a championship calibre team. I saw this intensity level show itself for the second half of the Bulldog game and it became very evident that I was watching a team that had much more potential to do great things this season than I was at first willing to voice they could do.
GO PANTHERS!
You have exposed the potential, now live up to it.
