OUCH! Panthers fall to the Sidney Eagles 62 to 36

Last Friday night was a beautiful night for football. Mistakes early found the Panthers behind 18 to 6 at the end of the first quarter. This game quickly became a track meet as the Panther defense had trouble stopping the eagles running game. The eagles rolled up 415 rushing yards and it seemed at times that the Panthers just couldn't find the defensive magic that they had Friday night a week ago. The offense got untracked in the second half but with no defensive stops it was to little to late. It was evident that the Eagles with 5 returning starters on either side of the ball should make a run into the play-offs this year for their first play-off appearance since 1996. Passing & PAT kicking will be the Eagles weakspots this year and if teams can stop their ground game then the eagles might find it to be another disappointing year. The Panthers are looking to rebound this week for their 2008 Homecoming game. I am confident that they will make the necessary defensive adjustments that will improve their season record to 2-1 and bring home a Homecoming win! GO PANTHERS!!!!
