The Panthers are 2-3 this year. Klondike was 0-2 last year. This year they are 1-1 going into this ballgame. This looks like one the Panthers can win and that would be great heading into district play. Lets see if the defense has it figured out this week.
As you can see Gordon pulled away from us in the second half. It was anybodys game through two quarters with the Panthers staying surprisingly close to the half. This game had alot of scoring and not much defense from either team. I was told that Gordon is ranked #4 in the State UIL rankings. If this is true then the Panthers should feel pretty good about their offensive showing however the defense still lacks the ability to make the stops and force punts. We need the defense to "step it up" for this Panther team to be competitive.
Garden City came out strong and the Panthers just didn't seem to have anything going for them this night. Garden City was a bigger, stronger and faster team. The Panthers looked sluggish and the defense just did not show up. Hope fully they will regroup and give Gordon next week a good test.
