BIG COUNTRY GAME OF THE WEEK
This week Anson plays host to the 1A power house Haskell Indians. The Indians are ranked 10th in the state and present one of the best running attacks in the area. While the tigers are one of the area's top run stoppers. That Tiger D is STINGY!
The week off did our boys good. Several of the linemen healed up and everyone is back on track for Haskell. Get ready for some smash mouth football.
Come out and support the Tigers. This will be an old style line up and come at ya game. Both teams are known hitters and both teams are known runners. Come out and enjoy a good football game.

Zero to fifty in 4.5
What a difference no turnovers make. Our two previous games the Tigers stacked up 12, yes countem 12 turnovers. Seven against Albany and 5 against Quanah. Two of the turnovers against Quanah inside our own 5 and it still took 4 and 3 downs respectively to move the ball less than 5 yards into the endzone.
This game against Knox City we had no turnovers. A new quarterback, a new look and a whole new attitude. I felt a little sorry for them Greyhounds about the 3rd quarter, they were gettin pounded. The tigers had a fire under'em the whole game.
Can't brag enough about our O line. Jones moved back to the line this week and that really helped open them holes. Lozano's, Haechten, Jones, and Villanueva good job. A new formation helped get Ramos and Hamlett more involved in the blocking as well.
Robinson made the move to quarterback and he looked like he had been playing the position since he was seven. Justin Lewis started at running back and had a great game. This was a real positive game for the Tigers against a very fast and very well coached greyhound team. When them Tigers come to play get ready.
Not taking away from our defense at all. Ramos, Garcia, Jones, Lewis, Robinson, and Moreno had an exceptional game. The Tigers had several big hits and a few takeaways. This is a very stingy defense and if you score after the first quarter, and it is not on a turnover, you earned it.
The tigers are off this week. They load for a state ranked Haskell Indians next week. This week off should give us time to get a few small injuries and aches put away for Haskell. Get ready for a real show down when the Indians come to town.
I would like to commend the players and especially the coaches on a well played and called game. GOOD JOB!
GET READY FOR A SHOW DOWN

Turnovers
Once again the Tigers took to the field and outplayed their opponent. Once again turnovers handed the game to the other side. Once again the Tigers have to ready themselves for a quick, and this week, undefeated team.
Two over the head snaps inside the 10 yard line and 3 interceptions gave the Quanah Indians all they needed to seal a victory. Take away the turnovers and Anson wins 14 - 10, but this is football and turnovers count. Final score Quanah 31 Anson 14.
I have never felt so good about a team after a loss as I did the Tigers on friday night. The Tigers beat the Indians up and down the field and never quit in this game. When all the cylinders get clicking watch out, this team is for real!
This week Anson travels to Knox City to take on an undefeated Greyhound team. Come out and support the tigers this friday night as we go on the prowl for a victory in Knox City.

Stumblin Fumblin
The Tigers stumbled into Lion country this past week. Maybe a little overconfident after the big opening day victory over Hamlin. Probably the most impressive thing was the Tiger Defense. While the offense was having trouble getting started the D stayed the course.
A lot of good to build on and that is what the preseason is for. We may have realized that a player or two is out of position. The holes and open recievers were there we just had a hard time getting the ball where it needed to go. Interceptions, fumbles, dropped passes and penalties all came to end Tiger drives. Not a typical tiger game at all.
This week we go to Quanah. The Indians are a tough team at home, but the Tigers have something to prove this week. Come out and support the Tigers at Quanah.
