Playoff March begins

The Tigers lost a hard fought match against a pretty good Ccity team. At the half the score was 6-3 in favor of the Colorado City Wolves. The Wolves switched to their big set and just drove the ball on the Tigers. To begin the fourth quarter the wolves extended their lead to 20-3. With six minutes left, the Tiger's switched gears to a spread option. That lead to a quick score making it 20-10. The Tiger D held once more and once again using the spread option, the Tigers drove down inside the 30. An interception on the 10 yard line stopped what would have been another scoring opportunity. FINAL Colorado City 20 Anson 10

This was the first game of the year that the Tigers had too take as good as they gave. The Wolves are a physical team and played well against the Tigers. Both teams head into this weeks playoffs on a good and positive note. The boys were in very good spirits Saturday morning. You know when your down 20-3 in the fourth, it says a whole lot about a team when they do not quit and keep on coming at you. This tiger team does not quit.

Once again our line did a great job. Our Linebackers and Defensive line did a wonderful job against a bigger and stronger team. Three players I thought really did well, Josh Ramos, Ben Moreno and Anthony Haechten. Josh, came in and led the team in the fourth quarter and almost led us too a victory. Anthony played very well on Defense causing a fumble and staying tough on the line. Ben was our go too receiver! Other noted players; Jeremy Arce, Chris Reyna, Jeremy Jones and Cord Garcia! GOOD JOB BOYS!

This week we meet the Coleman Bluecats for the first round of the playoffs. Coleman has a good running game. Anson has one of the best run defenses in the area. Should be a really good game. The game will be played at Jim Ned stadium in Tuscola Texas at 7:30 Friday. Come out and support our Tigers on the way to a DIVISION 2 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Those football Tigers, just keep rollin on!

Another Friday and another win. Anson played host to Stamford this past week and liked just a few yards having the 500 mark rushing. The final was 36-7 in favor of the Tigers. The Tigers are 4-0 in district play. This week they play for the 4-2a championship. Anson has clinched the top spot in division 2 playoffs. They will play the 2nd place division 2 team from the 3-2a, which, at this time, looks to be Balllinger. Colorado City goes in as the 4-2a division 1 representative playing Early. While we will have to wait until saturday too know for sure if we play Ballinger, Coleman or Bangs. Both, games should be good ones too watch.

The Tiger offense is starting to show signs of life! The quarterback has finally had a chance to heal and get into a groove. The passing game is coming back into play and you can certainly tell the quarterback is getting more relaxed each week. The defense held strong again and gave up a touchdown late in the game against the Bulldogs. The average score against this defense in district is 7 points. The last two games the scores came late in the game.

This week the Anson Tigers play for the district 4-2a championship against the Colorado City Wolves. That district championship has not come home to rest for 15 years and it is time for that too change. Let's Roll Tiger's! Come out and support the Anson Tigers for the district 4-2a championship.

A few names too mention with an excellent game. Devin Robinson, Cord Garcia, Elijah Ramos, Josh Ramos, Chris Reyna, Eric Lozano, Jeremy Jones, Leandro Lozano, Steven Hamlett (the sophmore surprise), Jeremy Arce and Anthony Haechten. Way too play boys!
