Anson Vs. Hawley Preview
The Anson Tigers will go into Friday Nights Game needing a Win. The Tigers Dropped to 2-2 in District Play after Losing a tough Game last week to Haskell. The Tigers are Fired up and Ready for the Biggest Rivalry in Jones County and that Will be when the Hawley Bearcats come to Anson on Friday.
Tiger Offense:
The Tiger Offense running game was shut down last week by the "D" of the Haskell Indians. Look for the Tiger Offense to wake up this week and score early and Often. The Passing game for the Tigers Last week was held to a very small part. The Tigers only had 18 yards passing against Haskell. Look for the Tigers to Throw the ball a Little more this week to open up the running game.
Tiger Defense:
OH That Tiger "D"!!! What a great Job they did last week to hold Haskell to 0 points in 48 minutes. Yes they did give up a touchdown in overtime, but we can say Great Job anyway because of the work they did in the 1st 48 minutes. The Tiger "D" is going to be STINGY again this week. This week the Tiger "D" is going to need to watch out for the Bearcat Running game. The Tigers will need to stop the Big plays by Josh Stevens, Kyle Sellers and Seth Lockwood. The Tigers will have to keep the Bearcats running game off track and make them throw the ball and little more and take a couple of interception out of the air.
Hawley:
Hawley will go into Friday's Game after a Win over Coahoma Last week. The way the Bearcats got the win is really what the Tiger "D" will need to shut down. The Bearcats gained a total of 594 rushing yards on 60 Carries, that avgs out to be 9.9 yards a carry. The Bearcat Offense is lead by Josh Stevens, Seth Lockwood and Kyle Sellers. Look for the Bearcats to get the ball in the hands of these three guys. Hawley is looking to make another playoff run this year. They are now 3-1 in District play and Have lost to the Tigers the last Three Years!!!!!!
Come out and support your Tigers as they Take on the Hawley Bearcats in Anson @ 7:30 Friday night!!!!!!!!

Anson 0 Haskell 7 OT
What a heck of a game it was Friday Night over in Haskell. The Tigers did a great job holding the Indians in Regulation play at there home field. You don't see many High School football games go into overtime Tied 0-0 anymore. The reason it was like this was because of the Defense played by both teams.
First I want to say Great Job Tigers you fought hard but fell alittle short and sometimes that will happen. Both Teams came out fighting hard.
here are the Stats for Anson:
First Downs 6
Rushes-yards 3-82
Passing-yards 16
Comp-Att-Int 3-9-1
Punts 6-30.2
Fumbles-lost 2-1
Penalties-yards 2-10

Preview of Anson vs. Haskell
The Anson Tigers have been preparing for this game all week. The Tigers will make the trip over to Indian Staduim tommorrow where they will take on the Haskell Indians. The Tigers come into this game at 2-1. The Tigers lost to Stanton on week one but have bounced back and Won their last two games. The Tigers have out Scored their District Opponents 98-42 in the First three games!!!
Tiger Offense:
The Tigers are lead on the Offensive Side of the Ball by Senior J. Ramos and Senior Fullback C. Garcia! The Tigers will move the ball this week on the ground, in which they are averaging better than 300 yards rushing per game, in hopes to control the clock and keep the ball away from that Haskell Offense. The Tigers come in with one of the Districts leading rushers, C. Garcia has carried the ball 73 times for 546 yards and 4 Touchdowns. Don't just look for him to be carrying the ball because that Tiger running game will consist of S. Hamlett, R. Seballos, and J. Lewis.
The Passing game for the Tigers came alive alittle more last week against Merkel where J. Ramos threw two touchdown passes to C. Salinas and M. Rosson. So don't just think that the Tigers will run the clock out on the ground. Look for them to throw the ball a little this week.
Tiger Defense:
OH That Tiger "D"!!! What a great Job they did last week to Hold Merkel to just Two Touchdowns, Which both came in the second Half. The Tiger "D" is going to be STINGY again this week. Look for the Tigers to shut down that Running attack from the Haskell Indians and Maybe if the Indians do decide to throw the ball this week, the ol' secondary will come up with a few interceptions.
The Opponent:
Haskell comes into this game at 6-0 and 3-0 in District play. The Indians have defeated C-city, Merkel and Stamford in District play. Like the Tigers the Offense of the Indians is going to come into play on the ground as they will look to control the ball and not let the Tiger Offense have it. The Indians are lead by T. Adams on the ground. Adams has rushed 54 times for 360 yards and 10 Touchdowns. The Indian defense will be looking to shut down that Mighty powerful offense of the Tigers.
SO IF YOU WANT TO SEE SOME HARDNOSE, PUT IT ON THE GROUND AND LET ME GO UP THE MIDDLE COACH FOOTBALL COME OUT TO INDIAN STADUIM ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND WATCH THE TIGERS TAKE ON THE INDIANS @ 7:30!!!

Tigers win in Merkel
The Anson Tigers have won for the second straight week. The Tigers defeated the Badgers of Merkel 41-12!!!
Tiger Offense:
The Tiger Offense did a great job again this week. The Tigers scored 4 times in the first half giving them a 27-0 Lead going into the locker room at half time. The Tiger "O" did it again on the ground gaining a total of 386 total yards of offense. The Tiger O-Line blocked well opening up the holes for the Backfield allowing the Tigers to gain 332 yards on the ground. They also allowed J. Ramos to throw the ball for 54 yards. The Tigers were lead on the Ground attack by QB J. Ramos who carried the ball 24-95 yards and was followed by J. Lewis who had 3-73 yards and 1 70 yard Touchdown run. J. Ramos threw two Touchdown passes, 1 to C. Salinas and the other to M. Rosson. Great Job by the Tiger "O" This week!!!
Tiger Defense:
The Tiger "D" was Stingy again this week as they only allowed two touchdowns which both came in the second half. The Tiger did forced the Badgers to punt everytime they had the ball in the 1st. The Secondary did a great job allowing Merkel to only pass the ball for 97 yards on the night..... in which most of them came in the 4th quarter. The Tigers were lead on the "D" by the linebacking core consisting of C. Garcia and E. Galvan!!!! GREAT JOB TIGER "D"!!!!

Preview of Anson Vs. Merkel
The Anson Tigers have been preparing for this game all week. The Tigers will make the short trip over to Badger Stadium tonight where they will take on the Merkel Badgers. The Tigers come into this game at 1-1. The Tigers were upset on Week One against Stanton and Bounced back with a big win last week at home over the Coahoma Bulldogs! The Badgers come into this Game 1-1 as well Winning in Week One over Coahoma and Losing last week to a very tuff haskell team by the score of 46-32!!!
The Tigers:
The Tigers are lead on the Offensive Side of the Ball by a Senior QB #12!!! He has been playing great and does a great job commanding the offense. In the Backfield the Tigers will come with some speed from #20, #4, and #7 as well as a great FB in #19! The Tigers also have a great O-Line who will be opening the wholes for the Tigers this week!!!!
The Tiger passing game didn't show much last week as they Completed ONE pass for 29 yards, but this pass was for a Touchdown.
Tiger Defense:
The Defense come back looking great in Game two against Coahoma. Expect that Defense to show up again tonight at Badger Staduim. This Defense is very stingy. They are lead by a great Linebacking core. Look for that D-Line to get some pressure on the QB from Merkel and for the Secondary to be stingy and intercept a couple of passes tonight.
The Opponent:
The Badgers come into this game at 1-1 in district play. The Badgers played a tough team last week from Haskell. The Indians looked like they had the game won with just 4:00 left in the game when Merkel came out with their passing attack and made the final score in favor of the Indians 46-32! The Tigers will be looking for the Badgers to throw the ball this week and continue with their running game as well. The Badgers came into this district dropping down from 3A and looking to make some nosie.
SO ALL YOU TIGER FANS COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE TIGERS AS THEY TAKE ON THE MERKEL BADGERS TONIGHT IN MERKEL AT 7:30!!!

Tigers Defeat Coahoma
What a Game it was for that Tiger offense last night as they put 39 Points on the Board Against Coahoma in their second District Game. The Tiger offense came out with a spark as they got the opening kickoff. The Tigers drove down field 50 yards and on a run up the middle the Tiger fullback fumble and gave Coahoma the ball, but the Tiger "D" did its job like it knows how to do and came up with an Interception by Sabellos on the Bulldogs Third Down. The Tigers then took the ball and put 7 points on the board in two plays. That is were it started and never stopped for the Tigers as the Offense went for a total of 394 yards. The Tigers rushed for 365 and got 29 more in the air as Josh Ramos hit Justin Lewis for a Touchdown. One of the biggest drives for the Tigers that Ended in a touchdown was a 99 yard drive the Tigers had as Sabellos punched in with 11:03 left in the second quarter.
The Tiger "D" did a great Job last night only allowing 8 points and a total of 156 yards. Coahoma offense had several good drives but the Tiger "D" was there to shut them down when Needed. The D-Line did a great job getting some Pressure on the QB and as well shutting down the run. The Secondary did a great job keeping the ball from being caught.
Great Job by the Tigers this week in the WIN!!!!! The Tigers will Travel to Merkel Next Week to Take on the Badgers. The Tigers 1-1 in District will take on another 1-1 Team. Come out and Support the Tigers as they shoot for their 2nd District Win.

The Tigers Traveled to Stanton on Friday night to take on the Buffs. The Tigers came out this week on the short end losing 22-14! The Tigers had 6 turnovers in which two of them turned into 14 points for the buffs. ON the first Drive for the Tigers they fumble on play number one and it was nothing but bad for the first half. The tigers did score in the First half and went into half time down.
