What will you remember best about high school: Swimming. I walked onto the team my junior year without any previous swimming experience. Coach Randall Allen accepted all athletes. Everyone was made to believe that they had potential, and everyone improved because coach made swimming fun. His dry sense of humor, blaring rock music at practice, and constant encouragement helped us enjoy his grueling practices. I constantly surprised myself with a new personal best time when we went to meets. We qualified both of my years swimming for the regional meet in Lubbock under his guidance. Coach Allen is a great coach!

What advice do you have for underclassmen: Stay focused in everything that you do. Now is the prime time to learn how to manage your time so you can accomplish everything you desire. Sometimes you must do things you really wish you didn’t have to, but the most productive way to get through high school is to buckle down and do the dirty work so you can have a little fun in the meantime.
