Rank: Valedictorian

Parents: Mike and Jennifer Rapstine

Grade average: 101

Future plans: Study biology and nutritional sciences with a pre-medical concentration at Baylor University.

School activities/honors: National Merit Scholarship winner, UIL literary criticism team captain for three years, student athletic trainer, National Honor Society, Tri-Hi-Y chaplain and treasurer.

What will you remember best about high school: Winning the state football game in 2004 and traveling with the boys basketball team to the state finals this year.

What advice do you have for underclassmen: Stay focused in everything that you do. The key to excelling in high school, and even in life in general, is to find a balance between friends, family, school and a social life. Now is the prime time to learn how to manage your time so you can accomplish everything you desire. Sometimes you must do things you really wish you didn’t have to, but the most productive way to get through high school is to buckle down and do the dirty work so you can have a little fun in the meantime.
