ROAD WARRIORS...
By mark rogers
September 27, 2008
I watch a ton of college football. I usually average about 28 games every Saturday. I've seen a lot of crazy stuff.
But I don't think I've EVER seen so many road underdogs win in the 11 AM time slot.
Maryland beat Clemson and the Tigers were an 11 point favorite at home.
Michigan State beat Indiana...not an upset but still a road win.
North Carolina beat Miami in Miami on an INT in the final seconds.
Northwestern beat Iowa in a very close game in Iowa.
Pittsburgh beat Syracuse...granted Syracuse is terrible but they jumped out to a very early lead and the Panthers had to come from behind on the road in a conference game.
Northern Illinois beat Eastern Michigan on the road...I only mention it because I watched the game.
And the big one...Ole Miss upsetting Florida ON THE ROAD! Crazy game. Florida lost because they couldn't convert an extra point.
Of the 10 games I watched at 11...seven road teams won. That's unheard of...let's hope the rest of the day features as much drama as the first three hours.
