WYLIE DID KEEP IT CLOSE

I knew they would. You could go back and change one play in that game and Wylie knocks off #1.

I do think, even with the loss, that Wylie will be up in the AP Top 10 either this week or next.

Head coach Hugh Sandifer said afterwards that Wylie played better football this week than it did against Vernon last week.

That must be frustrating to play better and lose...

It certainly won't hurt Wylie's confidence heading into week 2. Think about the Giants nearly knocking off the Patriots at the end of last year's NFL regular season. They didn't win but the performance propelled them to a Super Bowl champioship.
