NO ONE BETTER THAN BROTHER
By mark rogers

Oh to be Jaxon Shipley and have your big brother be your biggest fan, coach, personal trainer, dietician and counselor.
Jaxon graduated early but won't be enrolling at UT like most incoming freshman who shake the high school off their boots in December. A move that would be unheard of for anyone else...but not for Jaxon.
According to several publications (including our very own ARN), Shipley will spend the spring training with and learning from the greatest (statistically anyway) wide receiver in Texas High School football history, one of the greatest receivers in Texas Longhorn history, and an NFL sophomore who has a tremendous upside...Jordan Shipley.
You may have heard of him.
I got my father-in-law an autographed picture of him for Christmas.
He's kind of a big deal.
I ran in to the duo in the ACU weight room a few weeks ago (they were working out...I was doing something that probably didn't register as "work" to them).
They are both impressive athletes up close and extremely well-spoken and intelligent.
I told Jaxon that I wanted to get my father-in-law an autographed picture of him in a few years. I don't think he's going to let me down.
His head is on straight and he has great mentors and supporters all around him. His family would rival any other football family in Texas when grading skill, class, character and all around "goodness."
And who knows, if Case McCoy has a big spring and fall, we could have another McCoy to Shipley connection dominating national headlines for the next two or three years. Wouldn't THAT be something the media would just devour...???
