RECRUITING CLASS LOOKING GOOD FOR TECH

Tommy Tuberville's recruiting skill is beginning to take shape in Lubbock.

No, actually, it's taken shape and the shape looks to be something along the lines of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Predator...big, lots of guns, bulging muscles, plenty of anger, and the ability to kill an evil murderous alien.

Yesterday, Tech landed what is probably its biggest recruit since Michael Crabtree in DB Marcus Roberson from Fort Lauderdale, FL. His high school (Aquinas) beat Plant (the team that Abilene High beat on national TV) in the Florida state title last year.

Some have him listed as the top DB in the country, some have him second...nobody has him lower than fifth.

He was recruited by Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and just about everybody else. The fact that Tech was able to get a verbal is absolutely huge in what could be the best recruiting class in Tech's history.

What's the connection?

Roberson's uncle is Otis Mounds who is a GA at Tech right now and played for Auburn. He'll be exptected to start next year and make a big impact.

Another interesting note: 8 out of Tech's 25 verbal commitments right now are from out of state.

It's a huge class on paper, let's just hope that they can turn the "Schwarzenegger perception" into reality on the field.

And I didn't even have to look up how to spell Schwarzenegger.
