MORE DRILLING
Here are Colt McCoy's comments from mackbrown-texasfootball.com from March 22 concerning the spring drills. Remember, burnt orange spring football culminates this Saturday at noon in the 2007 Spring Jamboree Scrimmage at DKR Memorial Stadium.
On practice after spring break: We’ve had two practices in a row, so we’re a little tired, but we’ve had two very strong practices. We had workouts to do individually over break, so we’ve stayed in shape and now we’re back, ready to get better.

On how the receivers look: All of the receivers are back so everyone is looking good, and Jamaal Charles is looking good coming out of the backfield. We’re really consistent right now. They all want the ball, and they all can catch it, so if they’re open, they are going to get the ball thrown their way.
On the difference he feels from last year: There is definitely a difference, coming back and having a better understanding of the offense. I’m just trying to make the linemen better right now, because if they do well this year, we feel like the offense is going to do very well again.
On the line’s progress: The line is improving, and you see that because they’re always working very hard. If they continue to work as hard as they have been, there’s no doubt that Coach McWhorter with have them ready to go. They’re going to make mistakes, everybody is going to out here, but the main thing is that they are making them going full speed, and that’s what counts.
They’re working together well; when you have three spots open [on the line] you are going to have to gel in order to become better. That’s one area they’ve done really well.
On the running game: We’ve been in the weight room a lot and we’ve got some tired legs out there, but we really ran the ball well today, so that’s good to see. Chris Ogbonnaya is doing really well. He’s played his role for the last few years but he is coming on really well and going to be a presence out there with Jamaal next year.
