AWARDS ALREADY

The first game is more than a month away, and Colt McCoy has already received an award. Guess I'll have to start this season's list already.
The Big 12 media named him "Pre-season Offensive Player of the Year" last Friday as they picked their preseason All-Big 12 team. Reggie Smith of Oklahoma was named "Pre-season Defensive Player of the Year." Seven Longhorns were named to the team (story >> ).
A day earlier, Texas had been picked to finish on top in the South division, while Missouri got the nod for the North. If those two do capture their respective divisions, it means another trip to the friendly confines of the Alamodome in San Antonio for the Horns. That's where this year's Big 12 Championship game will be played on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., with ABC televising.
Speaking of San Antonio, that great place to visit is currently hosting the Big 12 Media Days, now through Wednesday. And according to regular site visitor Mary Youngblood, Mack and Colt will be in front of the cameras on Wednesday.
