Howdy, Ya'll!

The last time anyone in a Wyoming football uniform heard that from a player dressed in burnt orange was back in 1978 (UT won 17-3).

This Saturday at 2:30 p.m., Lone Star State time, the two teams meet again. This one will be on TV, and if you are lucky (like me), you have the Versus channel and will be able to see it.

The Longhorns are 33-point favorites. Actually there's another half-point supposed to be added there, but why be cocky? While looking at the pre-game notes, I see that UT is the highest-ranked team to ever play in Laramie. Don't know if the Cowboys will be awe-struck or not, but I understand their secondary is not too shabby.

Colt McCoy will have to watch out for Shamiel Gary and the Gipson brothers - Marcell and Tashaun. The brothers are originally from Dallas and will have incentive to give our man from Tuscola a hard time. They were part of a 5-interception game last week in the victory over Webber State, but Gary got 3 of those picks.

If this game goes as planned, you probably won't see Colt after the midway point in the third quarter. If Wyoming puts up a struggle, that would be nice, because the very next week is Texas Tech and the 'Horns are guaranteed a struggle - even though the Red Raiders will have to come to Austin.

One more point about Saturday's game. This will be one of the smallest venues Texas will have played in. War Memorial Stadium seats about 30,500. That's going to be quite a "down-sizing" from last week's record crowd of 101,096 in good ol' DKR.
