ONE DOWN ...

First of all, let me say I'm sorry you don't see the stats and slideshow of the La.-Monroe game yet. We changed servers recently and everything is all bumfuzzled up.

UPDATE: Here's the link to the new slideshow.

Except hopefully you can see this.

What I like to see is the fact that the airmail express from Colt McCoy to Jordan Shipley is still as good as ever. That 78-yarder for paydirt was the second longest pass Colt has completed for a TD at UT. The longest, of course, was last year's 91-yarder to Malcolm Williams in Jones Stadium in Lubbock.

And a 72% completion percentage (21-of-29) and only one pick is pretty good as well. Yeah, but La.-Monroe is La.-Monroe, you say back to me. Despite the score, they weren't any push-over, I say back to you. Just ask Colt, who ran 7 times for a total of minus-3 yards. It's tough out there, no matter who you're playing.

But what I like to see the most is what Colt did after his good buddy Sam Bradford of OU was injured. He texted him and prayed for him and wished him a speedy recovery so they can tee it up against each other on Oct. 17. This one is for the real bragging rights. Colt has won one and Bradford has won one of their previous two meetings.

Speaking of bragging rights, and not like I'm overlooking Wyoming or anything, but man, when the Red Raiders and their new quarterback, former Abilene High star Taylor Potts arrive in Austin on Sept. 19th there should be 800 yards through the air that day.

I'm definitely going to see that!
