Week 0 good one for Coogs

To Cougar fans all throughout Cougar Country? Welcome to 2004. My name is Tommy Kilpatrick and I am a football nerd and Cougar backer. I?ll do my best to represent the Red and Blue here. Any help or comments would sure be useful and greatly appreciated. I hope you guys enjoy.

It?s been a busy offseason to say the least. Thankfully the season is now here, and wow? what a way to start the new season! Did anybody expect the outcome we saw Friday night at Shotwell Stadium? The #14 team in the state was sent packing thanks to a dominating defensive performance. A dominating performance that included the heads-up play of Landon Berg, a jaw-dropping interception by Damon Russell and some brutal hits by Quenton Brown. That combined with the hard nosed running of Demetrius Gore and sharp passing of Christopher Hall made for a great night at Shotwell.

Friday night?s victory might not have been possible had it not been for the outstanding play of Cooper?s linebackers. That group, made up of Landon Berg, Quenton Brown, Willie Kershaw and Rodney Lewis, really shined in Coach Secord?s new 3-4 defense. The whole defense stepped up and played with a lot of heart, but those four young men stood out to me.

Speaking of coach Secord? welcome aboard coach and congratulations on your first win. You are a class act and it is great to have you on the sidelines.

God Bless and GO COOGS!!!
