Lornhorns VS Sanford-Fritch @ 6pm, Saturday the 26th, Wichita Falls (unofficial word)

The "unofficial" word is that the Longhorns will be playing this coming Saturday, at 6pm, in Wichita Falls. Probably at Midwestern University. It is certain that our opponents will be the Sanford-Fritch Eagles, who advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Tulia by a score of 35-12. The Eagles are 9-2 on the season, came in 2nd in their District behind Canadian. (Canadian is in D2, and advanced to play Crane next week).

This is going to be an incredible game - matching up the top 2 Teams from Division 1 in this Region! But if you like what the Longhorns did to the Hawks - you're going to love what these guys do to eagles!

Just doing some checking...Sanford-Fritch's 2 losses are to Canadian, and to 3A Muleshoe, 13-0, in week 2. Muleshoe was runner up in their District and lost in the first round of the playoffs. There is a little information available on the Amarillo Globe website about Sanford-Fritch. Just in case anyone is as curious as I am.

I'm still recovering from the drama in that Wall game! Talk about a season and character-defining moment...when our d-line stood their RB up just inches away from a first down on 4th and 3 in double ot...It was nothing short of amazing, and some thing none of the players, coaches, or fans will ever forget. It showed that while the Longhorns have all the usual good football ingredients...speed, strength, unity, etc...they also have intangible quality that makes good teams great. Call it heart, call it character, call it whatever you want, but this is a special team! I honestly think the sky's the limit on how far this team can make it, and I can't wait to be there to see it. Hope ya'll have a great turkey day, and we'll see you in Wichita!

Oh yeah, Early 45-Sanford Fritch 12
