What was the funniest thing, or the thing you will remember most, about high school? The thing that I will remember the most about high school will be the teachers. They would joke around with everyone - pouring water on students or jumping behind them to scare them. They would also be serious and help students in any way possible. They didn't mind putting themselves out there for their students.

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school? Take it one day at a time. It can be really fun if you don't rush through it. Enjoy the time in high school because it only comes once. Do what you want to do in high school, don't let others decide how you should live your life.

What will you have to tell your classmates at your 10-year high school reunion? I am glad we have stayed in touch; I've miss you.

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school? The best advice I can offer is to not let things get to you. There is always going to be someone who doesn't like you. Don't worry about them -- just be yourself and always have fun. You will never get these years back. Make the most of them!

Bangs High School: Amanda Wilburn

Parents: Alvie and Bernadette Wilburn

School activities/honors: NHS, Lions Club Student of the Month, departmental awards

Future Plans: I will be attending Howard Payne University (sting em'!, and I plan to obtain my teaching certification. I want to be a Kindergarten teacher!

What was the funniest thing, or the thing you will remember most, about high school? There are a lot of things I remember about high school. I couldn't possibly pick just one. Friday night football games, waking up early in the morning and earnestly wishing I could go back to sleep, the dreaded test, the piles of homework, the encouraging words from many teachers, the friendships I have made, the lessons I have learned, and so much more from little ole Bangs will be with me forever, There was one time, however, when I was baking cookies and I didn't know you couldn't stick wax paper into the oven. The cookies were cooking for maybe 5-7 minutes when we smelled something burning. Well, after we realized what caused the smoke and who did it (me), the guys wrote my name on the burnt piece of wax paper and hung it on the wall so everyone could see who was guilty of causing so much smoke and the horrid burning smell. Oops!

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school? My advice to the underclassman is to fully rely on God, I've learned that if you develop a walk with the Lord and lean on Him for understanding, then everything is going to be OK. Pray so him for strength, direction in your life and for anything you need. He knows the desires of our hearts and he loves us. So, the greatest advice I could possibly give anyone is to trust in the Lord and know, without a doubt, that he will come through for you and he will guide you in anything and everything you do.

What will you have to tell your classmates at your 10-year high school reunion? At my 10-year high school reunion, I'll probably just catch up with everyone and show off pictures of my kiddos. Whoa, that's kind of scary to think about!

What was the funniest thing, or the thing you will remember most, about high school? What I will remember the most about high school will definitely be my friends. I have recently come to the realization that I will not see their wonderful faces everyday as I have for the past thirteen years. Everyone is going in different directions and although it makes me extremely sad, I will always have a million memories to remember them by.

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school? Pay attention during class, get involved in as many extracurricular activities as possible, and do NOT goof off. This is the time where you can make the most out of yourself. Make studying mandatory because being intelligent does not make it an option. If you respect your teachers and do your work everything is so much easier.

What will you have to tell your classmates at your 10-year high school reunion? I will tell my classmates how I became a successful millionaire. I would of course have to explain to them every little step I took to accomplish this goal, but explaining would not be a problem as long as I could brag a little... maybe a lot!

What will you have to tell your classmates at your 10-year high school reunion? We would probably discuss old gossip from 'back in the day' and I would have to hear them tell me how behind I was and that I need to keep up with time!

What was the funniest thing, or the thing you will remember most, about high school? This past fall Blackwell celebrated its Centennial Celebration. The homecoming celebration was more extravagant than usual. As a spirit team member, I spent long hours preparing for this homecoming. Some of the funniest moments of my high school career occurred after midnight while we were decorating the gym. For the life of us, the four remaining spirit team members could not plug in the lights lining the floor. I also got to serve as the reigning queen of the festivities due to me being named Homecoming Queen the previous year. We broke ground on the new high school and I twirled fire at halftime, making it the first time in school history.

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school? Get involved in school activities and embrace school spirit. Go to football games or other sporting events, attend the school dances, and embrace the corny high school traditions. Most importantly, do not worry about being popular, find a few good friends that care about you and hang out with them. These true friends will always be there for you and will create fond memories with you.

What will you have to tell your classmates at your 10-year high school reunion? "Wow, I cannot believe you all are still alive. In the past 10 years, I have not met anyone as crazy, unique, or life changing as you guys."

What was the funniest thing, or the thing you will remember most, about high school? I have an amazing group of friends.  It's been pretty much the same people since sixth grade.  We have 'Taco Nights' every couple of weeks at our friend's house.  We just hang out, watch movies, play hide-and-go-seek, play with waterguns, and eat AMAZING homemade tacos (I am the record holder in the taco eating contest and still waiting on my plaque by the way).

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school?
1.  Have fun in high school, even when you think you hate it and you're ready to get out.
2.  Realize that there is life beyond high school, but still do your best at everything so you don't have any regrets.
3.  Anything you think is a huge deal...isn't, so don't make it one.

What will you have to tell your classmates at your 10-year high school reunion? Now, how am I supposed to know that?  I'm in a bible study where I've learned that it's really useless to plan out your life year by year; God has his own plan for my life.  So, I have no idea what I'll be doing in ten years, I'm just excited about this next one!

I'd have to say the thing I'll remember most is that for our traditional last-day-of-school water balloon fight, some guys in my class and I all pitched in some money to buy an old firetruck. We fixed up the truck, got the sirens working, and added a little detail work. Needless to say, at the water balloon fight that year, we were quite intimidating.

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school? I would tell them to work hard but have fun. High school isn't only about going to class and studying for tests. Also, I would tell them that it goes by faster than they think, so make it worth it; try to go through high school without having to look back and say "What if...?"

What advice do you have for underclassmen to survive high school? Have fun and be yourselves. This is the most important advice for anyone doing anything. Don't listen to other people and do things just because they do, and don't worry what they think. It's your life.  Live like it. What will you have to tell your classmates at your 10-year high school reunion? Are you kidding me? I am not waiting 10 years to talk to these guys again. If it came down to it, hopefully I will tell them about how great life is going, how successful I am, and how much fun I will be having, because I know I will be.
