School activities/honors: While at SAHS she has participated in UIL Debate, Academic contests, and One-Act Play. She as been to state in debate for the last three years, making the break twice. She served her class as a class president her freshman and junior years, and as class representative to the student council her sophomore year. She is a 4-year participant in basketball, volleyball, and track. A 4 year member of the band, she has served as drum major the past two years. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Adelaida is an active member of the Santa Anna First Baptist Church youth group. She has sung in church, community, and county choirs. This year Adelaida is the recipient of the English Department and Science Department Award.
Future plans: After graduation from SAHS, Adelaida will enter UTSA to major in biology and minor in Chemistry. Her long term goal is to attend medical school at UTMB to become a surgeon.
