Bulldogs Blasted By Coyotes 62-12

The Loraine Bulldogs lost their second district contest last Friday night when the Borden County Coyotes blasted the Bulldogs 62-12 in action played at Borden County.
Loraine did get to within two points at 8-6 early in the game, and even were close at 20-12, but the Coyotes scored 42 unanswered points to end the contest early in the final period on the 45-point mercy rule in six-man football.
The Bulldogs get a week longer to prepare for their final two contests against Trent and Hermleigh when the take an open date this week.
They will get back to action next Friday, November 3rd, when they take on the Trent Gorillas at 7:30 p.m.

Paint Rock Rocks Bulldogs 36-20

The Paint Rock Indians got revenge for all of the Bulldog domination over them by defeating the Bulldogs 36-20 in a hard fought battle last Friday night.
Paint Rock ensured the win by scoring on the last play of the game even though they were up 30-20 at the time.
The Indians led by a 12-8 count after the first quarter, and took a 18-14 edge going into the half.
Stefan Limones, who ended the night with 221 yards on 24 carries, scored on a 52-yard run in the first quarter before Miguel Acevedo took the ball in from the one-yard line in the second quarter.
Limones scored again in the last quarter on a two-yard run.
Acevedo had 13 tackles on the night while sophomore Jacob Sanchez was also credited with 13.
The Bulldogs take on Jayton this Friday night in the district opener for both clubs.

Ira Defeats Loraine In Battle of Bulldogs

In the battle of the Bulldogs, the Ira Bulldogs proved to be the best team last Friday night as they held off a second half rally by Loraine for a 64-36 win.
Down 32-0 at the half, Loraine scored 36 points in the second half to give Ira a scare, but in the end it was too little, too late.
Scopring for Loraine was Miguel Acevedco on a 4-yard run, Derek Martinez on a 18-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Sancez, and Martinez again on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Sanchez, and Kenny Esquivel closed out the Dogs scoring on a 35-yard touchdown run with less than a minute left in the game.
This week Loraine attempts to rebound when they take on the Paint Rock Indians who are 2-3 on the season.

Dogs Lose To Water Valley, Defeat Westbrook

After a 45-0 loss to the Water Valley Wildcats in week three, the Loraine Bulldogs took on cross-county rival Westbrook and defeated them by a score of 22-6.
Scoring for Loraine was Zack Gibson on a 25-yard gallop, Derek Martinez on a fumble recovery in the end zone, Martinez again on a 14-yard run, and the vaunted Dog defense held Westbrook to six points when they scored late in the final period to avoid a shut out.
Miguel Acevedo accounted for 12 tackles, Jimmy Grissom had 11, derek Martinez had 8 as did Jacob Sanchez.
