I'm Flossie
The Bachelor Party stuff was getting boring for me to type.
Moving on to bigger and brighter waters.
Since everyone is an avid reader of my blog and have kept up with it since its inception, I am suborned when its comes to "trying to stick it to the man"
TV, will not own me.
Just recently we had our satellite turned off. Just an experiment, nothing to crazy, but an experiment. We had some preparations before the big event, such as DVR'ing 30 hours of our favorite shows, kids shows and movies.
We did this about 2 weeks ago. It may have changed my life forever.
When my wife and I were first married, we went 2.5 years with no cable, satellite television. We wanted to save money for important things like gas.
We finally caved in and bought the whole thing, DVR for two TV's and the basic package, when we moved into our house.
Being able to pause and record live TV made me more efficient in my television watching, is what I told myself.
So we made the cut two weeks ago and since then have been relying on the newspaper and e-mail updates of headlines.
Here is what I have missed
-Bonds breaks the all-time homerun record - Big whoop, A-Rod will break it in 5 years
-Tiger wins 13th major - Actually would have like to have seen this, but the article from the AP on this event was fantastic
-Tanzy the elephant past away- I received the e-mail alert on that and was in the know.
Here's what I have been watching:
Because when you cut off your satellite you do still get channels, just promo channels for movies aand NASA
That's right. Talk about the ultimate reality TV. I saw all the dockings, all the hurricane pictures and even some guy chatting on line. It’s fascinating and I can't stop watching it. Last night I watched as they fixed something with a laser and then a spacewalk underneath Endeavor that was a huge success.
You need to check it out.
I have to go, but look for more content on Wednesday
