You all have me to Thank

Here is what I predicted for the game and how accurrate I was

Permian vs. Eagles

2 BIG turnovers from Permian - TRUE OHS created two huge turnovers
1 runback from Permian - False
AHS will give up two long pass plays, not because they need help on the corners but because of the formation the Mojo will present. TRUE. I couldn't believe I was actually correct on this but it happened. One happened at towards the end of the game.
At halftime, Permian will be winning. - TRUE again

At the end of the game based on smart play calling and excellent ball control the Eagles will score more on the ground than in the air. Lackey will do a good job managing the line. - TRUE

In the end it will be AHS over Permian and please do not pull down the goal posts. - FALSE

Permian was pretty good. They had a huge running back that was a bruiser. No one wanted to tackle him.

So now we have the Crosstown Showdown.

Cooper vs. Eagles. Who will win?

I will make John Madden comments on the results of this game

“If you see a defense team with dirt and mud on their backs they've had a bad day.”

“When your arm gets hit, the ball is not going to go where you want it to.”

“Hey, the offensive linemen are the biggest guys on the field, they're bigger than everybody else, and that's what makes them the biggest guys on the field.”

"The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break"

There you go.

Go vote and go talk trash

Cooper vs. Eagles

Trash Talk

And just because I can't help it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Lets Be Honest Day

I am coming to work today after our very successful One Day Sale. I define success more than one sale. It was great. We had a party stayed up here late and our Customer Service Reps had a blast with some in-house games.

Is one day of sales really going to make a difference . . .

YES

So now begins what I will forever refer to as THE BUZZ.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would love to start off by saying that I am somewhat of a High school football fan.

I will go to a game or two because I can get in free and the company is good. Plus teams have become more entertaining in the past years.

I came from the Mecca of LAKE HIGHLANDS HIGH SCHOOL. Jerry Gayden coached there after Zuffoto left because of some questionable things.

We had the Boneyard sold out every game and it was awesome. Mostly because I was under the stand playing "Jackpot"

boneyard2006.jpg

So on the eve of the biggest game in Texas high School Football tonight, I wanted to say that no matter how good the Wildcats were (for the record we were real good). It never had a feeling like Abilene does around a big game or a series of big games.

Wylie vs. Clyde
Cooper vs. Permian
Eagles vs. Permian
Cooper vs. Eagles

It’s incredible. I'm indifferent but you can't help get excited for these kids. Frankly it sells papers for me. I love that part of it because we have great coverage.

Tonight is Eagles vs. Mojo. I'm creating Fan cards that will be passed out at the game.

The game is already sold out and it should be entertaining. Statman will be there so that always makes me laugh.

So in my expert football analysis, here is what is going to happen.

Permian vs. Eagles

2 BIG turnovers from Permian, 1 runback from Permian
AHS will give up two long pass plays, not because they need help on the corners but because of the formation the Mojo will present.
At halftime, Permian will be winning.

At the end of the game based on smart play calling and excellent ball control the Eagles will score more on the ground than in the air. Lackey will do a good job managing the line.

In the end it will be AHS over Permian and please do not pull down the goal posts.

I would suggest that everyone go and buy Saturday's paper to see how close I am to that if you can't go.

Then there is the Showdown at Shotwell the following week.

Cougars vs. Eagles

I am splashing the town with Rack cards (slang term for printed card on the front of a vending machine) rooting for each team. So if all you see are Eagle signs you must be in there district and same with Cougars.

I think that will be a better game than the Permian one. Because Cooper has something to prove and the Eagles will have everything to lose.

Good luck to everyone tonight.

GBC - BA Weekend

The annual event BA Lake Retreat.

This would be the 4th or 5th year we have done this.

Basically similar to the bachelor party that took place in Gun Barrell City several months ago, we had a get together at the lake house.

This one changed the way we interacted at the lakehouse FOREVER

Also, I thought this medium would be a great way to let my parents know of the damage we did to their lake house before I tell them personally (there is always something).

Lets get into the weekend

We arrived about 7:00pm that was late.

We were greeted by 5 friends waiting for us. (normal)

We had a ski boat with us (not normal)

We ate like Kings (Normal)

We needed to do the dishes and while trying to locate a scrubber, I broke a panel off from the sink. Background, at my old house you could pull (a little hard I might add) on the drawer covering right beneath the sink and it would pivot out and you would put the scrubber there. I couldn't remeber if this house had that or not so I pulled on it and it came free and fell out of my hand and broke the snaps that held it on the pegs. Some glue would fix that up no problem. Sorry Mom.

We played poker for some time

I fell asleep on the couch. Normal at home and embarassing away

Day 2

Woke up had some coffee

Had some breakfast

Played cards till about noon

4 or 5 people went out on the boat and several of us stayed and watched fuzzy football (the reception down there sucks)

Boat people came back. Then the game was created.

Please see picture below for an accurrate dipiction

thegame.bmp

This game was as follows:

1. I place the innertube in the water a certain distance from the dock
2. Someone has chosen to try and throw the ball and make it land in the innertube from the distance I have set
3. Onlookers will then proceed to give the "thrower" odds that he can make it. Ex. 30 to 1 that he makes it and if he does then thats 30 seashells and if he misses it, that one seashell he owes the bettor.
4. The throw is made and the transaction takes place
5. The Fetchor (me in the diagram) is paid $0.25 seashells for every throw that is unsuccessful.

I made $7.25

I'm tired, I'll write more later.

Turn this Mutha Out

Yep, its old school MC Hammer time. For those who don't know, you will need to turn the volume up real loud. Also, through out this post I will use as many MC Hammer songs as I can remember. They will not be denoted, so please post your answer in your comment.

I have had my eyes opened to some interesting information and I want to pass it on to you, the faithful reader.

Why in the world us an MC Hammer reference.

1. It was Too legit to quit. It was a single I bought in Elementary School and was used in every program from our School Talent show
2. It has newspapers in it and if Hammer beileves in the value of print then you need to watch out for the funky headhunter
3. Nothing makes me laugh harder than hiphops evolution over the past 30 years. Some might say that it is in a real bad place right now. Its All good.

We'll I'm gonna Adam's groove on outta here.

Pray

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Notice anything new in this post?

I can post video. Not because I just learned how to do it but because since I am a company man, I wanted to not drive traffic away from this site.

However, in talking with our online department, I found that they have no objection to the use of video. So from now on, I will use Fridays as my Youtube dump.

And in case you were wondering everytime I see someone from ESPN say "The New York Times is reporting" and other newspaper reporters, like the A-RN I want to say that we still do it better than television.

TV does it right now, newspapers do it Right.

As a wise man once said

". . .Now I'm getting paid and your taking the loss"

His name is Dalton

Let’s get this out and in the open first, I am a Romosapien. I was teetering a couple of weeks ago and made the decision along with my wife to anoint Romo the new quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.

Until then he was just a player to be named later, but now I am on board and will accept his play with support and admiration.

The last quarterback I gave my support to was Quincy Carter, until he started doing drugs. I have my fingers crossed on Romo, not going that route (pronounced “root”)

But more importantly, look a this comparison

aikman_lg.jpg

Romo.jpg

Its like looking in a mirror. A mirror that needs to win 3 Super Bowls and some MVP's.

Please note the pinky on the non-throwing hand. Notice how it is not webbed like most people. I also think their angle to the ground is almost not solvable in normal math, but romonomics solves it pretty easily.

Plus TO likes him. If ever there was a judge of character whose opinion I would respect, it would be Terrel Owens. All he has done is brought unity to this team and made Romo look good.

God bless you TO.

------------------------------------------------------

Enough of that. Let’s talk about what has really been bugging me lately, The Double Deuce.

No, I am not talking about Poker, however, I would say that in most cases (if it was legal) I would take your money and then point at you and laugh.

I have been programmed to think that Chuck Norris is the biggest BA this side of the Prime Meridian. If you watch Roadhouse, the argument swayz to Swayze. Then you have Mad Max.

Who is the biggest BA? My guess it depends on the year
1970-1979 = Mel Gibson
1980-1988 = Chuck Norris and Sylvester Stallone
1989-1995 = Patrick Swayze
1996-present = Chuck Norris

You decide!!!

1. chuck norris.jpg

2. Mel-Gibson---Mad-Max--C10104041.jpg

3. stallone.jpg

4. James Mayo.bmp

5. update_roadhousedvd.jpg

I think the above picture could be the first use of airbrushing.

I'm sure I will get punched in the throat for these assumptions but it needed to be said.

PS. I was reviewing my document before publishing and noticed I misspelled Chuck norris' name and was punched in the eye. No lie, i have the shiner to prove it.
