Lightning in a Bottle

Not too sure where the title came from but it seemed like what I was feeling like.

Right now I am at home on a Wednesday. My wife is not feeling well and being 8 months pregnant, I guess that's ok. So I needed to stay home and watch the kids.

I was reading through the paper and came across an article on some couple owning a bed and breakfast on Sayles and people are upset with it.

The guy leading the charge said he is upset with all the traffic it causes? and that they don't know the people that live there.

Here is my response to this. GROW UP. If a Bed and Breakfast (even though we can't say that, that's what I'm gong to call it) is generating enough business to make traffic a problem, I could see more people in that area doing the same thing.

These homes are well kept and probably come with a hefty daily price, probably will help property values.

Don't know the people, please. This is where Abilene gets bad wrap. He doesn't know the neighbors and so they need to leave. I wonder why the people who lived there previously moved? I don't know my neighbors except they go to college, keep later hours than I do and take my parking spot in front of my house. Other than that I have no complaints. The others are very nice and would let me borrow some vanillia if I needed it (which I did last night, don't ask)

Guess what needs to happen sir, if you want something done. Create a home owners association and make it mandatory that the homes are occupied 90% of the time by the owners or relatives. Cars can't be parked longer than 3 days out front and so on. Think this through next time.

Hope this idea catches on.

Here is the link to the story for you to read. I'm pretty sure this will get some comments, the story, not my post.

Here's the real story that was not mentioned and should be followed up on, these people that own the houses are also responsible for selling homes that have been foreclosed on. You think they might pull some aside before they get to auction and turn them into rental properties. I doubt it but conspiracy theorist would have a field day with it.

I just took a survey on what I thought about Abilene for the branding committee that is going to "save or city"

One of the questions was if Abilene was a famous person who would it be. It took me three seconds to answer with Robert Duvall.
