Bulldogs Win In A Thriller

Ranger 13, Archer City 12

Ranger overcame a defensive battle to pick up a one-point victory over Archer City. Ranger's defense shut down Archer City in the first half and held on in the second to stop an Archer City offensive comeback.

Penalities and key turnovers by the Bulldogs keep the Wildcats in the game. The Wildcats had momentum and were driving deep inside the Ranger 20. However the defense played tough and held on.

It was without question the best game "defensively" the Bulldogs have played to date. Dennie Crossan, Casey Hudson, Greg Martinez, Jake Wells and Michael Esponiza all helped Ranger to the win. Cory Smith and Gene Bradley also played well in the secondary.

Next week Ranger will begin district play at Gorman. Ranger will need to play their best football on both sides of the ball to be successful.
