As different as night and day
After opening the 2009 season with a day game last Saturday, the Abilene High Eagles get their first taste of action under the lights tonight when Plano East visits Shotwell Stadium.
Several factors will be different from the first outing, such as how well receivers pick up the ball and how much cooler players stay not being in direct sunlight for the entire game.
But the biggest difference, AHS coach Steve Warren said, will be the atmosphere.. After all, the book wasn't called "Saturday Afternoon Shadows."
"It will feel more like a football season starting, getting to start on a Friday night," Warren said. "I think the kids will be more excited maybe than they were on Saturday afternoon, although I thought we started off with a high level of enthusiasm. It'll just have a little bit more of a high school football game feel to it."
