DISCLAIMER: Don't go crazy about what you are about to read. These playoff projections are based on the actual playoff brackets for this season BUT the projected teams plugged in are from preseason picks for district winner and runner up slots. All teams named in either district winner or runner up spots are subject to change. The brackets are true as I read them.
IF I read the brackets correctly, notice that is a big IF, the playoffs will be a bit different. There are still two teams from each district that go to the playoffs however with the UIL's most recent realignment, the district numbering changed so a new set of teams will get first round byes. Here is what I am talking about.
REMEMBER based on PRESEASON picks, the first couple of rounds of the playoffs would look like this:
DIVISION ONE
REGION 1
Turkey Valley would have a bye advancing to Regional
Bye
Hart and Meadow would meet in Bi District with winner taking on Valley in Regional
Petersburg and Lorenzo would meet in Bi District with winner taking on Follett in Region
Follett would have a bye advancing to Regional
Bye
REGION 2
Northside would have a bye advancing to Regional
Bye
Ira and Garden City would meet in Bi District with winner taking on Northside in Regional
Grady and Fort Davis would play in Bi District with winner taking on Throckmorton.
Throckmorton would have a bye advancing to Regional
Bye
REGION 3
Richland Springs and Gordon would meet in Bi District with winner taking on Saint Jo in Region.
Saint Jo would have a bye advancing to Regional
Bye
Greenville Phoenix Charter would have a bye advancing to Regional
Bye
Robert Lee and Strawn would meet in Bi District with winner facing Greenville Phoenix Charter in Regional
REGION 4
Abbott and Trinidad would meet in Bi District with winner taking on Calvert in Regional

Welch Dawson would meet Borden County in Bi District with winner taking on Sierra Blanca in Regional

Fannidel would have a bye advancing to Regional

Woodson would meet Blackwell in Bi District with winner taking on Fannidel in Regional
Rule would meet Highland in Bi District and winner would face Gold Burg in Regional
Gold Burg would have a bye advancing to Regional.
REGION 4
Zephyr would meet Jonesboro in Bi District with winner facing Walnut Springs in Regional
Walnut Springs would have a bye advancing to Regional
Leveretts Chapel would have a bye advancing to Regional
Paint Rock would meet Sidney in Bi District with winner taking on Leveretts Chapel in Regional.
Remember the teams named are based on preseason picks. District play has not even begun. Lots of football to be played on the field. These projections are on paper only.
