What’s the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: The most
challenging part of Current Events is that the questions can be about anything in the news from August to April, so you have to continuously study and keep up with the news everyday for 8 months.

First thing you’ll do when you win: Get some sleep.

Past honors in the event: 2007: 2nd at Regionals, 1st at District; 2006: 2nd at State, 1st at Regionals, and 2nd at District; 2005: On the state qualifying team.

Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: UIL Editorial Writing, UIL
Persuasive Speaking, FBLA, Spanish Club, Student Council, and National Honor
Society.
