How long you’ve been competing: I have competed all four years in High School and also competed in Junior High UIL.

What’s the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: The most nerve-wracking thing about Persuasive Speaking is trying to find enough information for any topic that UIL may choose to throw at us.

First thing you’ll do when you win: The first thing I’d do if I won would be call my parents! After that I’d try not to boast because I’m not any better than any of the other competitors. At this level of competition, everyone is awesome!

Past honors in the event: 1st place in 2006 and 5th place in 2007 at the Wylie Valentine Classic Invitational UIL Meet; 2-time regional qualifier.

Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: UIL Headline Writing, UIL Current Issues & Events, Winters High School Student Council, Pride of West Texas Marching Blizzard Band, First Baptist Church of Winters Youth

College plans: I plan to attend the University of North Texas to pursue a degree in Radio, TV and Film.
