Event: Feature Writing

How long you've been competing in UIL: 4 years

What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: The time limit is defiantly the most nerve racking part. You only have an hour to come up with a catchy lead, spell everything right, be grammatically correct, and make the story flow. I hate the 5 minute call.

First thing you'll do when you win: I think I'll have to go into a corner and jump up and down and run around in circles for a minute before I can think straight again. Then I'll get out my phone and call my parents, my grandparents, and my boyfriend so i won't be the only excited person.

Past honors in the event: I've medaled in many practice meets over the years. I got 2nd at district and regionals this year. I went to Regionals last year, but this is my first trip to state though.

Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: One Act Play, Band, Tennis, News Writing, Headline Writing, and Editor of The Scorcher(our high school paper.)
