Bangs: Jacklyn McKee
Age: 18
Grade: Senior
Event: Informative Speaking
How long you've been competing in UIL: 9 years (counting Jr. High and elementary)
What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: Staying on top of all the news. So much happens all the time and I have to know about all of it.
First thing you'll do when you win: Jump up, smiling from ear to ear.
Past honors in the event: I've been speaking since I was a freshman and have medaled in many meets. My sophomore year I was the District Champ, and I went to finals at Regional. My junior year I got third at district and advanced to Regional. This year I went to numerous practice meets and managed to metal first in all but two. I finished third at District and third at Regional.
Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: Volleyball, Track, Powerlifting, Yearbook, One Act Play, Current Events, NHS, Class Officers, Fall Production, and FFA
College plans: I am going to University of Texas at Austin and plan on majoring in business marketing and getting a minor in international management
Birthplace: Brownwood, TX
One thing your parents, a sibling or even a best friend might not know about you: I still get nervous, especially when I start to draw a topic. My heart pounds every time I start to pick up the envelope.
