Jim Ned: Jada Yarbrough

Yarbrough, Jada.JPGAge: 18

Grade: 12

Event: Accounting

How long you've been competing in UIL: 7 years

What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: Being the team captain this year. As the only returning Senior, I know more is expected of me than from any of my other team mates. It does make me nervous, but it pushes me to study more and make sure that I can hold my own as captain.

First thing you'll do when you win: Laugh and hug Mrs. Whitton, my Accounting Coach.

Past honors in the event: Senior year: Regional Champion, Regional Championship Team, District Championship Team. Junior year: 7th in State, State Championship Team, Regional Runner-up Team, 2nd in District, District Championship Team. Sophomore year: 8th in State, State Runner-up Team, Regional Championship Team, 3rd in District, District Championship Team.

Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: National Honor Society, Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Peer Assistance and Leadership (PAL), Band, Drumline, Varsity Tennis, Spanish Club, Science Club, Yellow Ribbon Club, Math Club

College plans: I plan to attend ACU and major in Business Finance and Accounting.

Birthplace: Abilene, Texas

One thing your parents, a sibling or even a best friend might not know about you: I don't like being so busy.
