Panther Creek: Cheyenne LaShae Elkin
Age: 17
Grade: Senior
Event: Computer Applications
How long you've been competing in UIL: 11 years, since 2nd grade.
What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: Trying to get everything accomplished in a 30 minute time period. I am terrible with time management!
First thing you'll do when you win: Thank my coach, Mr. Romine, for all of his help. I couldn't have done it without him! Then call my parents.
Past honors in the event: I have placed 1st, 1st, 4th, and 5th at district. At Regionals I have placed 2nd.
Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: I was a cheerleader for 4 years. I have been involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, GT, and Yearbook Staff. In UIL I have also competed in Editorial Writing. At district I have placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 1st. At Regional I placed 4th and was an alternate to state. In Accounting I placed 5th at District and was a part of the 2nd place Team.
College plans: Nursing at Tarleton State University
Birthplace: Andrews, Tx
One thing your parents, a sibling or even a best friend might not know about you: I can't stand to be away from home for more than 5 days at a time and living in the country all my life, I am scared to death to live in a town.
