What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: OAP - Worrying about going overtime. Editorial Writing - not knowing what to write about.

Event: Headline Writing
How long you've been competing in UIL: I've been competing in a variety of UIL academic events since I was in Elementary School at Munday.
What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: The most challenging thing about Headline Writing is the fact that it is a timed event and there are also various requirements to the event - for instance, number of characters you can use and also number of line.
First thing you'll do when you win: If I should win the first thing I would do would be to call my family.
Past honors in the event: I've competed before in Headline Writing but never made it past the Regional event.
Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: At MHS I have been active in football for four years, including the State Championship team from this year. I have also been in track for 4 years, FFA for 1 year, band 2 years, and a variety of church leadership roles.
College plans: I have been accepted to Baylor University and plan to attend there in the fall.
Birthplace: I was born in Easton, Maryland
One thing your parents, a sibling or even a best friend might not know about you: One thing that many people may not know about me is that one of my favorite actvities is deep sea diving.

What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: Getting in Whitney's face and yelling without laughing
First thing you'll do when you win: Scream and jump up and down

How long you've been competing in UIL: I've competed in Current Events since my freshman year. I've done Social Studies since my sophomore year.
What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: Staying focused throughout the year
First thing you'll do when you win: huge sigh of relief, then run around screaming
Past honors in the event: Won state current events as a team every year I've done it. I got 8th freshman year, 3rd sophomore year, and then 7th last year. Social Studies we won state my sophomore year (I got 3rd individually), but last year we finished 3rd (I got 7th).
Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: Varsity Football, very active in Beltway Park Going Public Youth Ministries, FCA, PALS, lots of other things
College plans: Baylor, Communications Major

What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: the essay I have to write to get my paper graded and trying to figure out what the judges want to read
First thing you'll do when you win: breath
Past honors in the event: Last year I got fourth at district and second at region, this year I got fourth at district
Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: Band, UIL Science, band, running, and more band.
College plans: I am going to Tarleton State University to major in music. I will go somewhere for my masters in conducting (either Hardin-Simmons, Texas Tech, or the University of North Texas), then I will go to UNT for my doctorate in conducting. Somewhere in here I will get a job to help pay for college unless I win the lottery.
