Grade: 12th

Event: UIL Spelling and Vocabulary

How long you've been competing in UIL: Since 3rd grade (10 years)

What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: The split-second right before I open the test booklet.

First thing you'll do when you win: Celebrate with my team.

Past honors in the event: 1st place in District for 10 years; placed 5th at State as a freshman; tied for 1st place at State as a sophomore; placed 1st at State as a junior; placed 1st at Regionals as a senior.

Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: National Honor Society, church activities

College plans: I will attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas and pursue a biology/pre-medicine major. I will also be enrolled in the Honors Program.

 Birthplace: Tyler, Texas, USA

One thing your parents, a sibling or even a best friend might not know about you: Dissecting a cat in anatomy class was one of the secret highlights of my academic career.
