Jim Ned: Jessica Callahan
Grade: 11
Event: Current Issues
and Events
How long you've been
competing in UIL: Since freshman year
What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking
thing about your event: Trying to anticipate what will be on the test--in
Current Events, all we have are dates to go by, so anything in the news from
December to April is fair game for the state test
First thing you'll do when you win: Probably
laugh
Past honors in the event: First at District
and Regional last year, and second at State, second at District this year and
first at Regional
Extracurricular activities/other UIL events:
I'm involved in Student Council, and National Honors Society, and I also
participate in Literary Criticism UIL
College plans: I hope to go to Southwestern
University, and major in psychology
Birthplace: Alamogordo, New Mexico
One thing your parents, a sibling or even a
best friend might not know about you: I always have to wear mismatching socks
