Stephenville: Chelsea Ball

Grade: 11th

Event: Prose

How long you've been competing in UIL: Since 5th grade. In grades 5-8, I competed in oral reading (which is very similar to prose and poetry oral interpretation. In 9th grade, I did Lincoln-Douglas Debate; in 10th trade I did poetry oral interpretation, and this year I did prose oral interpretation.

What's the most challenging/nerve-wracking thing about your event: The most nerve wracking thing for me is sitting in the room waiting my turn and watching the other contestants.

First thing you'll do when you win: Gasp!

Past honors in the event: 5th place a the Burleson UIL Meet; 1st place at the Mineral Wells UIL Meet; 2nd place at District 8-4A Meet; and 1st place at Region 1 UIL Academics Meet

Extracurricular activities/other UIL events: Cheerleading, Band, Student Council, Theater, National Honor Society, FUMC Youth Group

College plans: I hope to attend Cornell University and participate in their affiliate program with the Culinary Institute of America.

 Birthplace: Dallas

One thing your parents, a sibling or even a best friend might not know about you: When I'm upset or stressed, I bake or cook to calm myself down.
