Albuquerque mayoral hopeful Eric Griego (is Mayor Martin Chavez running or isn't he? Must we hold our breath?) is in Santa Fe today.
No news there; Griego, who seems unable to sit still, is a Roundhouse regular, working on bills that affect the city he hopes to inherit.
But tonight, he's here for a little cash. Griego is holding a fundraiser up here at Garrett's Desert Inn.
You might think it's odd for an Albuquerque candidate to come to the City Different to raise money, but let's be practical: where oh where do you think the lobbyists, and the money, are these days?
Griego's host committee includes a few Roundhousers: Sen. Cisco McSorley, and Sen. Gerald Ortiz y Pino, both Albuquerque Democrats, and Rep. Hector Balderas, a Wagon Mound Democrat, as well as Linda Siegel, who has more lobbying contracts than I care to count, but is a visible rep for Equality New Mexico.
