Letz among 15 athletes awarded scholarships
The UNM Alumni Letterman's Association announced today it will award 15 scholarships to athletes who exhausted their eligibility but need a fifth year to complete their degrees. The following athletes were awarded the scholarships:
Ryan Barba, baseball
Becca Barras, diving
Jay Choi, men's golf
Dirk Grimm, skiing
Maja Kovacek, women's tennis
Kelsey Leckovic, swimming
Cassidy Lespreance, swimming
Abbie Letz, women's basketball
Robyn Miller, swimming
Heather Morsilli, swimming
Jeff Rowland, soccer
Nicole Ryan, volleyball
Chelsea Sondrup, volleyball
Janice Tosa, track
Gladys Weidt, skiing

My hope for Abby is that she takes the money and goes to grad school elsewhere.
If she stays, at UNM it is waste of an opportunity to grow and test herself.
Then, if she wishes to go into coaching she can get a job away from the University Near Mom and come back seasoned and take over the top job. See Suminski, former point for Stanford, now a grad assistant at San Diego State University.
In my view staying at UNM is not a good carrer move. Leave the nest and fly.
