Harry Potter and the Shadow World of Bloodlust

July 21, 2007

We ran this great first-person account of dogfighting in The Trib yesterday. It's long, but reads really quickly and is full of great details: drugs in the air, how the betting works, what dogfighters do to avoid getting caught.

One more link:

Anyone looking to get caught up a bit on Hank Aaron should check out this story from the new SI. For my money, Verducci is the best baseball writer working, and he gets across brilliantly what an amazing player Aaron was. Honestly, I never really thought about how good he was.

The idea here is that Bonds is about to become the official home run king, but Aaron will always be "The People's King."

Also, I'm one chapter into Harry Potter VII here at work, and I get the feeling Lord Voldemort is up to no good. And to anyone over 20 who attended a Harry Potter release party at midnight: You shouldn't let newspaper shooters take your photo. Weirdos.
