The Daily Chatter
The blogosphere was heavy with Richardson traffic, but it's slowed to a crawl.
Hey, what about New Mexico?
While in Iowa again this week -- does he live there or what? -- Gov. Bill Richardson suggested the heartland isn't getting all the homeland security money it deserves.
His plan: move Iowa into the top 10 states for homeland security risk.
That's funny. Just last month, New Mexico's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management learned it would be getting $1.3 million less this year in security money. Did anyone hear Richardson complain about that?

After Monday's big debate, Richardson put out a statement saying he didn't get all the airtime he wanted.
The guv said he was happy with the answers he gave, but "this song and dance is getting old," he said.
"Every time we have a major media outlet debate, two or three of the candidates get most of the questions and most of the time, while every other candidate is left with a fraction of the time and a fraction of the questions."
So, if you had a question you wanted to ask but couldn't, Richardson says he'll take it.
"We're going to upend the status quo and skip the media middleman," he wrote.
Just go to the governor's Web site for instructions, www.richardsonforpresident.com.
Maybe journalists should give that idea a try.
Gays for Edwards
The governor has worked to set himself apart as the candidate working hardest for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.
But it's former Sen. John Edwards who has the biggest gay Web presence, including the site GLBT Democrats for Edwards. A Google search of "gays and Richardson" and "GLBT and Richardson" didn't turn up anything, except mentions of Richardson's faux pas on the Don Imus radio show.
You remember that one, where the guv called one of Imus' staffers a maricón.
Richardson and Edwards are invited to an Aug. 9 gay-issues debate in Los Angeles. The 7 p.m. Mountain Time debate will be broadcast live on the Logo channel, which caters to gays, as well as at www.logoonline.com
